The 2019 Blazer is one of the best SUVs on the road today. Here’s five reasons why in today’s blog!
A Taste of Two Worlds
It isn’t every day you see crossover SUVs compared to sports cars, but the 2019 Blazer brings that idea to mind. This year’s refresh sees many features of the fast and feisty Camaro make their way to the big and brawny SUV. From the aggressive exterior to the impressive handling and performance, the 2019 Blazer burns away the competition.
It Carries Over Camaro Appearance
With so many rather ugly SUVs out and about these days, the 2019 Blazer takes a different path. In many ways, this crossover SUV borrows a bit of skin from its sexy sports car Camaro cousin. No matter which trim you choose, the 2019 Blazer will be blazing hot. However, opting for the RS trim will amp up the aggressive exterior even further.
“An RS trim in bright red is without a doubt the sportiest looking crossover SUV in the class,” said Cars.com reviewer Aaron Bragman. “While other competitors go for the rugged off-roader look, the Blazer makes no apologies about being an on-road warrior.”
That Camaro-centric appearance also presents itself inside, with a dashboard that Cars.com felt came straight out of a Camaro. “The dash design is appealingly sporty … from the placement of the multimedia screen to the round vent rings that also control temperature settings,” Bragman said in his larger review.
Sports Car-Style Power and Performance
Unlike many bottom-tier engines, the 2019 Blazer’s basic 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine packs quite a punch. With 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque, you could do a lot worse for a standard engine (and many other SUVs do.) Going with this engine will mean giving up all-wheel drive, but you’ll gain a “sprightly nimble feel” as you drive this SUV.
For more pedal to the metal, you can upgrade to the 3.6-liter V6 that pumps up the power considerably. With 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, you won’t have to worry about this SUV’s strength. Going with this engine also unlocks the available upgrade to all-wheel drive.
Sport-Tuned Handling Unlike Any Other SUV
Power and performance are great, but how well can the 2019 Blazer handle all that muscle? The SUV takes another note from the Camaro by providing a much more sports-centric driving experience than competing SUVs. The Blazer RS trim takes things even further beyond with a quicker, tighter steering ratio that blurs the line between sports car and crossover SUV.
While the Camaro comes loaded with technological tricks, SUVs aren’t known for their gizmos and gadgets. Yet again, the 2019 Blazer borrows from the Camaro in this area. Standard support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is a big win for this SUV. Additional add-ons range from WiFi hotspot support to wireless charging for your mobile devices. You can even opt for a soul-shaking premium Bose audio system.
Considerably Capacity for Towing
This is one area the 2019 Blazer and Camaro diverge. After all, how often do you tow trailers in a sports car? Towing won’t be an issue for this SUV, though. With 4,500 pounds of maximum towing capacity, you’ll be able to take your toys out to play wherever your destination may be.
